Well, so much for getting a good nights sleep. The campground was right next to the highway, which we knew; but there was traffic all night long, which we didn't expect! And it was cold. So Howard, remember when we were walking last week and I said that our sleeping bags were rated for around 20 degrees, but that anyone camping in 20 degree weather would be insane? Well, we are officially insane!! I really don't know if it was that cold, but it felt like it. We had on many layers, and managed to stay pretty warm in bed, but it was brisk out of bed. Made for a quick walk to the bathrooms!

When we hit Kalispell, we managed to find the library there. We had some business to attend to and thought we'd just pop in and get it done. Turns out there was a lot of business to take care of. So for about two and half hours, I worked on the blog while Herb put out all the fires I had created when I submitted the loans on Monday. I had a nice time; Herb-not so much. But he got it done, and everything is cool again, so we're back on vacation.
We left Kalispell and headed South on Hwy 93 toward Flathead Lake, cut over on Hwy 82 and drove to Bigfork and found another state campground there. It's NOT on the highway. It sits on the lake and is really nice. You can see how cozy we are in our spot. That's dinner cooking on the campstove.
Turns out we were staying on the middle Thompson Lake. It really was a nice place. The campsites were great and the lake was pretty. Just too noisy and cold. So we decided we would pack up after breakfast and head in to Kalispell.

We got our dishes done and walked down to the lake only to find that we had just missed the sunset. But it was still pretty. We'll catch it tomorrow night. Back at the campsight, Herb built a Teepee campfire, "because we're in Indian country", and we sat by the fire until we could keep our eyes open no longer.
An interesting day....
