SEPTEMBER 10TH-Lake Mary Ronan

Guess what--it rained last night!! It was clear as a bell out when we went to bed, but the wind started blowing in the middle of the night and then it started raining pretty darn good. But we were safe and dry in our little tent.

Before we even had breakfast, we walked down by the lake. We talked to a couple of fishermen as they were putting their boat in. One of them thought Herb was Jon Lovitt. It was pretty funny. I told him he could be sure Herb wasn't because Mrs. Lovitt wouldn't be staying in a tent.

We decided to stay another day and as we were making our way back to our tent, the camp hosts came by. I had to take some good-natured ribbing about my fear of bears, but they were nice. Mrs. Camphost is originally from Beaverton and later Seaside. They sent us on a 15 minute hike to a back woods resort for breakfast. But the place was closed when we got there. This resort is something right out of the movie "Deliverence". But the hike was nice.

We came to Polson to get the last document we've been waiting for. And now we're getting ready to leave. This will probably be my last post for awhile. The plan for tomorrow is to head up Hwy 200 and spend one or two nights at Thompson Falls. It looks like we'll be in a pretty remote area. From there we'll stay on Hwy 200 to Sandpoint where we'll spend our last night before making the final push home.

So, I'll keep my daily journals and if I can get wireless anywhere, I'll post them. Otherwise, see you when we get home.

Oh, and Dad, here are the train pictures from Whitefish:
Now, I'm going to go sit in camp and read my book!!
Hopefully, a quiet day...

Thanks for the train pictures, Dianne. We both get our RR Retirement checks every month so I have to hold my hand over my heart every time I see a train. Glad you're having a good time!
